How on earth do these things work and how do you get them? The No Deposit Bonus

What it says is what it means. You register an online poker account with the poker room of your choice, follow the instructions and receive anywhere from $3 to $50 in your account to play poker with. This is real money, not play money, which is nice if you’re new the game. The poker room gets a new player and it they lose, they keep the money. If they win, they keep the money. Yes, you read that right. If you take a no deposit bonus and the change your account into a cash account that you fund, you do not get any of the first deposit bonuses. So, they get to keep the money.

The First Deposit Bonus

Based on how much you put into your new cash account will determine how much the poker room will give you. Most poker rooms offer anywhere from a 50% to 100% match on your deposit up to a certain amount of money. So if you deposited $100 into your account and the room matched you at 100% up to $400, you will have $100 more in your account that the poker room has given you. Remember the admonition about wagering restrictions? This is where they apply.

Before you can use that extra $100, you will have to meet certain requirements. For example, in order to have your money released you may have to earn 100 player points in thirty days. Or you have to wager 4 times the amount you deposited. Each room is different and some are easier to meet than others. Make sure you completely understand what you have to do; otherwise you will not get the bonus money.

The Reload/Freeload Bonus

These are additional bonuses the poker rooms offer you once you have earned you initial deposit poker bonus. Reload bonuses are given when you replenish your account with another deposit. Freeload bonuses are just given to you when you enter a bonus code.
